Liar
Lies, they haunt us,
and yet, they protect us,
shadows of solitude, and yet vulnerability,
stealing our souls words at a time.

Holding us captive,
until we ourselves begin to believe,
the tall tales we've been spilling,
following the bait into the dark.

We love where it has taken us,
hidden evils have not been uprooted yet,
love comes quick and passion disapears,
what we thought was real is just an illusion.

We try to say its real,
dillusional and in denial we stand,
helpless, hopeless.
With nothing left but the rags of the truth.

Hanging limp angainst our bodies,
whispering "i told you so",
leaving us to mourn for that illusion,
that tricked us into brief happiness.

And tore it away from us just as swiftly.
