Lost Treasure

You're an arrogant, selfish, ungrateful, hurtful, unbelievably frustrating, condescending pain in my ass, and yet I can't pull away.
**********

I hate this feeling, heinous thoughts of the impossible, the improbable. But for some reason I can't rid myself of them, I think of your crude smirk that taunts my every move, or that low sarcastic grumble that follows me throughout my day, you've plagued me and all that I do, and even within my mind... There is no escape.I seem to be overwhelmed by your scent, crisp mint, cool and icy, undertones of different spices pull themselves through as well. Sometimes I wonder why we seem to be stuck in this blustering storm that is our friendship. Fighting every minute, struggling through another day, but coming out with a smile... Because I want you happy, I want that smile. You hide yourself from me still, taking cover behind the reddish skin that coats your muscles and bones and serving up a couple of cold phrases to keep me at bay, to keep me curious and intrigued even even if you have nothing to offer...
***********

Broken, that is what you are.
Scarred, that is what you are.
Hurting, that is what you are.
Cruel, Hateful, Damnable, and Terrible.
That... you are not.

And I hate you for that. For making me hope, making me love, making me wish, making me think there was something more.

*************

I know your games, I played for too long, and now I have to say goodbye, end this.

You want to close yourself up? Alright. You want to keep yourself captive in the confines of your own mind? Alright.
Never venture out dear friend, never attempt something other than the same, tedious, unsatisfying routine you have created for yourself.

Just know dearest friend...

I pity you.
I don't have much to say on this one...

I know the feeling.
